Organics recovery is not just about food scraps! Fallen leaves and ghouly gourds make for wonderful compost, too. We recently partnered with local greening groups at two successful stewardship events and collected a lot of compostable material in the process.
We joined the NYC Compost Project hosted by Queens Botanical Garden and the Mary Louis Academy Robotics Team at our annual Pumpkin Smash at Lou Lodati Park on November 5th.

We also spent a splendid day with the residents of Roosevelt Island cleaning up old jack-o-lanterns and raking leaves on November 4th.

Composting for the seasons takes some preparedness. As the temperature decreases, rethink your #FoodScrap #DropOff storing options. Windowsills, fire escape, etc are possible cold weather storage spots making room for all the seasonal foods your gonna have😋 #NYC #CompostProject hb #BigReuse @nyczerowaste #Autumn #fall #sustainability
