It might not feel like the middle of April, but signs of spring are all around us. From the blooming daffodils to buds on trees, plants are starting to come back to life. When cleaning out their gardens this year, residents in the easternmost area of Queens have a new option for all that yard waste – their new organics bins. Brown bins are being delivered to residents in areas of Bellaire, Bellerose, Brookville, Cambria Heights, Floral Park, Glen Oaks, Laurelton, New Hyde Park, Queens Village, Rosedale, Springfield Gardens throughout the month of April and our outreach team is on the ground talking to residents about this new service. For more information about the brown bin go to nyc.gov/organics. If interested in setting up a workshop, presentation or event, please contact CEorganics@bigreuse.org.And as always, be on the lookout for our orange tables located on sidewalks, libraries, and grocery stores throughout the city to answer all your organics recycling questions.
