Big Reuse Center
The Big Reuse Center, located in Gowanus, Brooklyn, is our flagship thrift store. Environmentally focused, it accepts more types of materials than other thrift stores. Its dependence on community donations makes it an efficient, self-supporting store scalable to other communities. Every donated item sold means more material kept out of our landfills.
We offer a diverse mix of goods, from new to used to vintage, whether it’s building materials and appliances, our wide array of furniture, or our bookstore, known for its selection of interesting titles and authors. Clothing, kitchen & dishware, toys and gently used tech round out some of the many things you can find here.
New donations come in daily, so the unexpected find is always just around the corner, and the price is always right.
In 2023, we launched the first two of six free clinics in a new repair and reuse event series initiative. The series includes topics such as a lamp repair cafe, an antique furniture repair workshop, and a sewing repairs clinic. Our space transforms into a learning and crafting center, and participants leave with a handmade or repaired item.
