Remington was a weapons manufacturer, but after the American Civil War it went on to produce typewriters. This portable DeLuxe model 5 was produced between 1945-1949. The lovely clickety-clack is a sound that instantly reminds us of the crafting of a story or letter from years passed - when every stroke of the key was important on the paper.
