Smaller items like books, clothing, electronics, home goods and hardware can be dropped off 7 days a week, 10:00 to 5:00.

Why should I donate my used items?
We work every day to reduce the environmental impact of the demolition industry in NYC thanks to the support of generous donors like you! When you donate materials to Big Reuse, you give them a second life. You also support eco-initiatives and green, living wage jobs.
Can I claim a deduction for my donation?
All donations are tax deductible and directly support the environmental mission of Big Reuse. a 501c3 charitable organization. You will receive your tax deductible receipt at the time of donation.
A receipt is needed if you plan to claim a deduction of more than $250. For total yearly deductions over $500, you must complete IRS Form 8283 Noncash Charitable Contributions for your tax return. To deduct a charitable contribution over $5,000 you must have a qualified appraisal that itemizes and values the donated property.
Note that by law, we do not assign a monetary value to your donation.
Do you pick up donations?
Got a truckload of stuff to donate? We are currently able to offer pick-up services for large volume donations. Through a grant made possible by the Attorney General of New York’s office, Big Reuse uses an all-electric truck to pick up donations, keeping our air cleaner for everyone. Big Reuse is fully insured and can provide a Certificate of insurance.
How soon will my inquiry be responded to?
Complete inquiries will be responded to within 2 business days. Due to the volume of inquiries we receive, we are sorry, we are unable to respond to non-compliant inquiries.
Do you deconstruct and remove Kitchen and Bathroom Cabinets and Fixtures?
Currently we are not able to deconstruct cabinets and fixtures. We will work with you or your contractor to pick up items salvaged from a renovation project. Please fill out the pick up form above for more information.
Why wasn’t my donation accepted?
If your item is one of the types of items we generally accept, it may be rejected because of its age, quality, condition, or because space is limited in our warehouse. Dirty or potentially hazardous items- bedding, lead related items, chemicals, recalled items, and items that pose a safety risk to children may also be regulated by law. Pickup requests are determined based on value, proximity and scheduling.
We recognize the time and effort it takes to donate, and we make every attempt to accommodate eligible donations.
