Do you love composting, healthy soil, diverting waste, and making your community greener? Consider enrolling in the Department of Sanitation’s master composting program! As NYC’s composting initiatives continue to grow and expand, the city needs a strong community of composters, advocates and educators. The program is year-round and offered in all five boroughs for any city residents 18 or older.
Through learning the science of composting and how urban compost systems work you’ll gain critical skills for fighting climate change and achieving global sustainability. It’s also a great way to connect with other people interested in building a greener New York. To become a certified master composter you will attend seven workshops and two field trips, and complete 30 hours of compost-related volunteering. More information here!
