Don't trash your pumpkins—harvest, process or smash them! Over a billion pumpkins end up in US landfills every year, don't let this be your pumpkin's fate. Come join us on November 4 for the Great Pumpkin Event on Roosevelt Island. This event is free for all ages thanks to funding from council member Julie Menin!
If you bring your pumpkin, you can visit the "Pumpkin Determination Station" to see if your pumpkin has edible pieces or can be composted. You can then exchange your pumpkin for a delicious take-away meal including tasty Egusi, fonio and savory hand pies prepared by Nneji Eatery, cookies from Wengerd farms, or a piece of cake by Andrea Jackson. Join us this Saturday, 11/4 from 11am-2pm on Roosevelt Island, Manhattan Park, Upper Lawn!
