Climate week starts this Sunday September 17th! This week more than 400 events and activities will be held throughout the city to bring together business leaders, scientists, policymakers, activists, and stakeholders for seven days of panels, plenaries, conferences, happy hours, and parties. Join the March to End Fossil Fuels! The UN Climate Ambition Summit will gather world leaders later this week to commit to phasing out fossil fuels. This weekend before the summit begins, thousands of people in cities all over the world will be marching to demand an end to fossil fuels. Join us to let President Biden know there is no other option but to stop new fossil fuel projects, phase out oil and gas drilling on our public lands and waters, and declare a climate emergency. On September 21 is the Brooklyn Sustainable Building Resource Fair! From 4-7pm in Borough Hall, building owners and managers can join Council Member Lincoln Restler, Borough President Antonio Reynoso and other community partners to learn about sustainability upgrades that will make buildings greener and compliant with Local Law 97. Building owners and managers can learn about heat pumps, solar, weatherization, HVAC, lighting, electric and renewable energy, as well as financial incentives and financing to help do the work.
