Thirteen food scrap drop-off sites are officially opening back up in Brooklyn and Queens, supported by city council's community composting funding.
What to Compost: Most food scraps, including fruits and vegetables, eggshells, coffee grounds and tea bags, bread, rice, and pasta. Plant waste, including leaf and yard waste and houseplants. No meat, bones, or dairy.
Two new Brooklyn food scrap drop offs open back up on November 10!
Thank you to council members Lincoln Restler, Shahana Hanif, Chi Ossé, Jennifer Gutiérrez, Sandy Nurse, Chris Banks, Justin Brannan, Rita Joseph, Julie Menin, Nantasha Williams, and Julie Won for supporting community composting in their districts!
