Street Tree Care Volunteer Day
Help steward New York City street trees with our Tree team by cleaning tree beds and applying locally made NYC Compost.
Volunteers will follow our 5-steps to tree care, including cleaning tree beds, aerating soil, and applying mulch/compost. They'll also learn about why street trees are so important and the benefits healthy trees offer to NYC neighborhoods, as well as receive information for downloadable tree care guides they can use if they'd like to continue stewarding NYC trees.
Compost Site Volunteer Day
Learn about the magic of composting at our newly reopened mid-scale community compost site!
Volunteers will help processing food scraps collected from our community drop-offs, maintaining our education corner with smaller compost systems, and taking care of miscellaneous tasks around the site.
Reuse Center Volunteer Day
Help Big Reuse to keep waste out of the landfill by volunteering in our Gowanus Reuse Center. Projects include organizing, merchandising, restructuring, shelving, and sorting donations.
*We will work with you to plan a volunteer
project that accommodates your team’s interests.*
