A DAF is a charitable giving account allowing donors to deposit funds and receive an immediate tax deduction. They can then decide how and when that money is granted to nonprofits like Big Reuse.
If you have a DAF account and would like to make a donation to Big Reuse or would like to set one up, reach out to a charitable sponsor below and recommend a DAF grant using our Federal EIN 46-5083170 and name Big Initiatives Incorporated dba Big Reuse.

Why use a donor-advised fund?
Here are some reasons why someone may choose a DAF
- Fast tax deduction - once you contribute to a DAF, you'll typically get a tax deduction in that year no matter the timing on when you actually choose to donate the money you've put into the DAF.
- Flexibility for giving decisions - you can take your time to decide which charities to support, requesting your DAF distribute the funding when you're ready. You can also often ask for funding recommendations from your DAF sponsor based on your funding interests.
- Simpler paperwork and recordkeeping - you won't need to track receipts from multiple donations; instead, you'll get one consolidated record from your DAF sponsor.
- Donate appreciated assets - you can make contributions like stocks instead of cash.
- Potential for growth - Funds in a DAF can be invested and grow tax-free, meaning more money can eventually go to charity.
