Back-to-school season is here! Whether you’re getting ready to start college or heading back to class, shopping for your kids or updating your study space, our Reuse Centers have what you need: backpacks, books, clothes, school supplies, art materials, furniture, and other surprises to help you start the year for less.
Buying secondhand saves money, gives items a second life, and you might find something better than you expected. Here are our back-to-school shopping guide when you visit our Gowanus or Bushwick Reuse Centers. Our inventory changes often, so every visit brings something new.

Backpacks, Totes & Bags
A good bag needs to hold everything, from notebooks and chargers to snacks and your everyday essentials. Look for backpacks, tote bags, and messenger bags that make your commute to school day easier.
Notebooks, Binders & School Supplies
We often receive binders, folders, notebooks, paper, pencil cases, organizers, and other school essentials have plenty of life left in them. It’s an easy way to save money while giving these supplies a second life.
Back-to-School Outfits
A new school year is also a good reason to have fun with your wardrobe. Check out jeans, sweaters, jackets, shirts, shoes, and accessories that let you create an outfit that feels like you without paying full price. Shopping secondhand lets you try new styles and find unique pieces you won’t see everywhere.
Furniture for At-home Study
A good study space can make long study sessions feel more comfortable. We carry adjustable desks, handy end tables for your supplies, and bookshelves with space for all of your textbooks.. Look for supportive desk chairs, lamps, filing cabinets, or storage pieces that can help turn any corner into your own study spot.
