Are you concerned about the budget cuts to community composting in NYC? Want to know more?
Join us for a broad overview and detailed discussion of the different nonprofits that make up the NYC Compost Project. Learn what each nonprofit does and how they work together to bring many benefits to communities.
We will discuss funding issues, intersections with environmental justice, and why community composting is critical for a green and resilient future. We will also discuss DSNY’s curbside organics brown bins and orange Smart Bins as they relate to composting in general.
This is a Save Our Compost coalition teach-in with 4 opportunities to attend a session in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and/or on Zoom (which will have representatives from Staten Island and Bronx). All events will be live-streamed on the Save Our Compost instagram. The Queens Public Library event will also have a public zoom, you can join here.
