Curbside composting collection expanded to the entire borough of Brooklyn earlier this month! Set your food scraps, yard waste, and food-soiled paper out each week on your recycling day.
If you or someone you know has not had a chance to request a free brown bin for curbside composting collection, please check out this list of DSNY’s upcoming brown bin giveaways; you must register through the Eventbrite website, 1 bin per address.
Otherwise residents can use their own bin that has a secure lid, is less than 55 gallons, and is labeled with the DSNY orange decal.
