A Fresh Start With Secondhand Style

Instead of being thrown away, more than 77,000 pieces of clothing were given another chance through Big Reuse in 2025, cleaned, sorted, and thoughtfully displayed so they could continue to be worn, styled, and appreciated. Our staff places standout pieces on mannequins to highlight their beauty, turning the clothing floor into something that feels more like a living collection than a thrift store. Each item becomes part of a shared story about creativity, sustainability, and individuality.

The Story of Reused Decorations: Giving Holiday Items a Second Life

Customers often tell us how surprised they are by the variety in our store. One person may find a classic winter village house that reminds them of childhood, while someone else falls in love with a decorated tin or candle holder that feels perfect for their holiday table.

Empowering the Next Generation of Land Stewards

The youth of New York City are our future land stewards, educators, and advocates. They'll be inheriting the world we leave behind, which is why we're so passionate about providing environmental education and resources to all New Yorkers. Our tree care team recently worked with students at PS 705, PS050Q, and Brooklyn College to care for street trees in their neighborhoods.
